… I am trying to investigate the influence of that unseen part of our personalities, that part that most people do not show to the world – the reason, to find out about what values they base their lives on, their motivations and their beliefs – and how this manifests in their interactions…. I have recently asked the question on LinkedIn “Would you like to be able to show more of the real you to the world ? If so, what is stopping you doing so ?
For me the majority of a person’s makeup remains hidden, and is not revealed through normal contact (except with their close intimates, and sometimes not even then) … we seem to be a sort of iceberg .. 90% out of sight … the engagement from the 40 odd people on the group of my 400+ invitee’s seems to have broken new ground. I would welcome your input to the group if you are so inclined. If not .. your thoughts directly with me would be a help as I feel my way forward.
It is not that I am trying to prove that we are not alone, I know we are not, somehow, I am trying to find common ground between people.. to build trust to a point where a breakthrough can be achieved (perhaps not even in my lifetime ..but to start a process) through these artificial walls we all have built … I am trying what I can, within my “sphere of influence” as Covey would say. These self generated walls that differentiate us, are created during our upbringing by our environments as we “grow”, they are created by ego’s, by religions, by sovereignty, patriotism, creeds, colours, age (even) and sexes – those things that make us all different …. these things and others keep us from achieving a single identity and single unifying purpose – our ego’s and the other differentiating identities are flawed. Ego’s to me are a fantasy, to differentiate us for own identities … as we are all one “organism” in essence .. part of a greater “spiritual .. (as I search for a better word to define it) consciousness .. Occasionally you can see the insight of others over thousands of years into the one organism approach.. From Buddha to St. Francis to Jesus.. I am not a believer in any structured religion … for God / the Universe / Gaea is everywhere and in everything … for structured religions again differentiate us, they do not bring us together – they place a barrier, a reason to differentiate one from the other and they can drive us apart.
This delusion from the ego, that we are all separate seems to me to be a large part of the reason for the current state of the world.. by this it’s a them and us mentality…. with all of its manifestations. I am driven to bring simplicity and clarity to the world … or that part of it I can influence, by bringing transparency / accountability and therefore the engagement of all – but most of all respect between all levels of any organisations (even the world is an organisation of sorts – well it would be without politicians of all shapes and sizes ) … that we should value all …at the lowest level, within companies, all stakeholders … but primarily internally all levels of productive staff and externally in the form of what is the absolute necessity for any organisation to survive its customers .. and the rest of humanity / environment- this lack of a true connection and therefore a lack of engagement is a frustration for me. To go further that all members of a country, of a world if you like, should be equitable partners and should be treated fairly and equally .. for their needs … perhaps I am not explaining myself very well .. .. it definitely feels as though I am in the wilderness here in this topic … a world without borders either physically, ideologically or symbolically would be my aim, Do let me know if you can relate to anything I am saying here.
